Power for Democracies is a new nonprofit organisation aiming to protect and strengthen liberal democracies – based in Berlin, with a global scope. In order to defend and advance democracies, we research, analyse, and report on highly effective pro-democracy projects by civil society organizations. This requires aggregating and analysing existing research results as well as conducting and commissioning new research. As a result, we aim to publish recommendations that private, institutional and civil society actors may use in deciding how and where to allocate their limited resources to serve democracies best.
Power for Democracies has been founded in 2023 by Markus N. Beeko (former secretary general of Amnesty International Germany) together with Stefan Shaw and Stephan Schwahlen, both founders of philanthropy advisories such as legacies.now and effektiv-spenden.org.
For our Knowledge & Research Team, we are looking for a committed and diligent student worker to assist us with some essential tasks in the pursuit of our mission.

    • Assistance with reference management software (Zotero).
    • Assistance with team meetings and events.
    • You are a full-time undergraduate (final year) or master student.

    • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (knowledge of MS 365 is a plus).
    • You have some administrative and organisational skills.
    • You are a good communicator and a team worker.
Are you enrolled in a full-time degree program in Germany for at least another six months, but can't meet all the requirements above and are still convinced that this could be the perfect job for you? Then please apply anyway and convince us, for example with a detailed cover letter explaining why you are a good fit.
    • Meaningful, appreciative work in a charitable non-profit organisation with a mission to support democracy/stance.
    • A growing, highly committed, inclusive, international team.
    • Peer system with experienced researchers.
    • Flexible working hours.
