Your responsibility

Contribution to the DFG project "Sensor-integrating elastomer bearing (SiEla) with combined sensor-generator-system" within DFG-SPP 2305
Design and embedded implementation of an energy- and compute-adaptive signal-processing framework for embedded microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, embedded C)
Realization of wireless data transfer (e.g., Bluetooth/Zigbee) as well as firmware-update capability incl. cyber security
Close interdisciplinary coordination with project partner Mechatronic Systems Laboratory (Prof. Maas)
Contribution to building, commissioning, and experimentally validating the system prototype
Implementation of quality-assured and documented program code
Publication of scientific results in international journals and at conferences
Supervision of student theses within the project scope

Your profile

Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in engineering sciences (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable), applied mathematics, or physics
Proven practical experience in embedded software development (C/C++) on microcontrollers (e.g., STM32 / ARM Cortex-M)
Solid theoretical knowledge of vibration theory, structural dynamics, or signal analysis (e.g., through degree focus or thesis)
Good programming experience in Python as well as with Git-based version control
Practical experience with laboratory measurement equipment, development environments (e.g., dSPACE), or experimental test-rig setup
Independent, structured, and results-oriented way of working desirable
Strong teamwork skills for close, ongoing collaboration with the partner group (Mechatronic Systems Laboratory) desirable
