Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 0.5 working time
About us
The SatelLight-R project is developing wireless intra satellite communication using light or LiFi. It builds on the previous SatelLight project which developed a transceiver that can communicate using the CAN or UART protocols. The SatelLight-R project will continue the development of this transceiver looking at further optimizations of the transceiver in particular adapting it to communicate over the 1550nm wave length. We are looking for a dedicated research assistant to develop, optimize, and test the transceiver.
Your responsibility
Developing the transceiver to function in the 1550nm wavelength
Optimization of the design of the transceiver to increase baud rates or distances supported
Testing the transceiver with hardware or dummy hardware from other projects using optical wireless communication
Constructing models of the transceiver for use in optimization software
Communicating with the partner university (TUHH) and stakeholders on the progress and developments of the project
Your profile
Successfully completed scientific university studies (diploma, master’s degree) in computer science or electronics
Knowledge of electric circuit design, development, testing, and optimization including operational amplifiers
Basic knowledge of embedded C++ development for the STM32 using tools such as STM32CubeMX.
Good German and/or English skills; or a willingness to learn the required language
Previous experience with optical circuits such as developing transimpedance amplifiers desirable
Experience and knowledge with communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, etc desirable
