The Abwasserentsorgung Salzgitter GmbH (ASG) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the city of Salzgitter, founded in 1995 to ensure the completion and operation of the modern Nord wastewater treatment plant. As an independent GmbH, it supports the city in the sovereign task of wastewater disposal in accordance with the Lower Saxony Water Act.[2][3][5]
ASG operates an extensive wastewater network over 224 square kilometers, serving all 31 districts of Salzgitter with around 107,000 inhabitants. The central key products and services include:

The organization is divided into four departments, headed by Managing Director Dipl.-Ing. Bernd Arndt and authorized officer Dipl.-Ing. Carsten Krause.[1][2][7]
The main mission of ASG is: Permanent environmentally and resource-friendly wastewater disposal, taking into account economic and qualitative aspects. It stands for reliability, quality and public service – as an indispensable partner of the city of Salzgitter. Core values are sustainability, professionalism and continuous improvement, as underlined by the successful TSM repeat audit in November 2020, which secures a seal of approval for further years.[2][5]
Sustainability is central: ASG prioritizes resource-saving processes in wastewater treatment plants and the sewer network in order to minimize environmental damage and protect water resources. Initiatives include modern cleaning technologies, efficient operational management and quality management according to TSM standards (Technical Safety Management). The training of environmental technologists for pipeline networks and industrial plants promotes forward-looking skills and long-term environmental protection.[2][5][6]
