The Akademie der Gesundheit Berlin/Brandenburg e.V. is one of the largest non-profit, state-recognized educational institutions for healthcare professions in Germany. Founded in 1992, it offers a comprehensive range of training, further education and advanced training programs for various healthcare professions.
The Akademie's mission is: "Changing education to strengthen the healthcare system". It attaches great importance to the development of professional skills, including communication skills, perception skills and transcultural understanding[4]. The values of humanistic psychology play an important role in the training[4].
The Akademie is committed to sustainable and high-quality education. Close cooperation with practical partners and the use of modern technologies ensure a needs-based and economical care of clients[4].
The Akademie has four locations: Berlin-Buch, Eberswalde, Bad Saarow and Brieskow-Finkenheerd. It works closely with numerous cooperation partners from the healthcare and social sectors[2]. The three institutes – Institut für digitale Lehre/Medien, Institut für soziales Lehren und Lernen and Institut für Simulation, Training und Transfer – support the educational processes and offer future-oriented training[1][5].
