Under the motto „Aktiv im Leben mit Behinderung“, the association stands for equality, inclusion and the removal of barriers - including in people's minds. The mission: to accompany people in all phases of life, to ensure participation and to enable a self-determined future. Values such as commitment, openness and social responsibility shape the work. The current board under the chairmanship of Dr. Joachim Schümmelfeder continues this tradition.[1][3][5]
The association is committed to long-term social inclusion through events such as the European Protest Day for Equality or information evenings on relief services (e.g. Verhinderungspflege, assistive devices). The EUTB offers free, low-threshold advice to break down barriers and strengthen participation. As a non-profit organization with a subsidiary, it prioritizes sustainable structures in the region.[1][5][6]
With over 30 years of expertise, the association is an indispensable anchor of the social structure in Thuringia - inviting newcomers, volunteers and co-creators.[1][3]
