Amaro Drom e.V. is an intercultural youth self-organization that unites Roma and non-Rom*nja. It promotes empowerment, social participation, and intercultural dialogue. Through educational work and networking, the association strengthens young people in their responsibility and dignity.
Amaro Drom e.V., translated as "Our Way," is an intercultural youth self-organization consisting of Roma (Romnja) and non-Romnja. The association aims to open spaces for political and social participation for young people through empowerment, mobilization, and self-organization.
The main mission of Amaro Drom e.V. is to develop young people into critical and responsible citizens of our society. This is achieved through educational work that places people at the center of their dignity and freedom. The association represents the concerns, issues, and interests of children and young people and promotes intercultural dialogue and networking between Roma and non-Roma in Germany and Europe.
Amaro Drom e.V. works on a grassroots democratic basis and advocates for a society in which all young people are treated equally and with respect. The initiatives of the association focus on promoting self-organization, political and social participation, as well as strengthening intercultural dialogues and mutual understanding.
Through the active involvement of many young people who invest their time and energy in children's and youth work, Amaro Drom e.V. contributes to creating a more inclusive and just society. The association closely cooperates with other youth organizations, such as djo – German Youth in Europe, and the MJSO federal groups (migrant youth self-organizations) organized within it, to comprehensively pursue its goals.
