Das Andreaswerk e.V. is a state-recognized non-profit organization in the Vechta district that is comprehensively committed to the promotion and inclusion of people with disabilities. With over 630 full-time employees, it is one of the largest regional employers and operates a diverse network of educational, work and housing opportunities for more than 2,000 people with disabilities.
The core services of the Andreaswerk include integrative daycare centers and curative education kindergartens, a day school, several workshops for disabled people and various forms of housing including assisted living and residential homes for seniors. In the field of work, the workshops offer a wide range of services and products, such as professional digital and offset printing orders, metal processing, CNC panel processing in the carpentry shop, industrial assembly, bicycle and car service as well as textile services such as washing and mangling bed and table linen. A special meeting place is the "Manufaktur" in Vechta, where people with and without disabilities work together, run a shop and operate a café that serves as a social meeting point.
The mission of the Andreaswerk is to realize the right to participate in social life for people with disabilities. (Respect, appreciation and inclusion) are at the heart of this. The organization promotes a coexistence in which diversity is lived, and creates individual support services as well as inclusive jobs and housing that promote independence and community.
Sustainability is represented in the Andreaswerk through environmentally friendly processes in textile cleaning, resource-saving production techniques in the Manufaktur, as well as through long-term commitment to social sustainability and inclusion. In addition, the Andreas-Stiftung was founded, which as a funding foundation ensures the sustainable support of people with disabilities in the Vechta district and initiates innovative projects for joie de vivre and participation.
