The Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Eine Welt-Landesnetzwerke in Deutschland e.V. (agl) is the nationwide umbrella organization of the 16 Eine Welt-Landesnetzwerke. Founded in 1999, the agl represents the interests of its members at the federal level and advocates for a future-oriented, global development based on the principles of social justice, ecological sustainability, democracy, and participation.
The main mission of the agl is to strengthen civil society initiatives, Eine Welt groups, and non-governmental organizations that are committed to issues related to Eine Welt. This is achieved through political advocacy, public relations, and networking. The agl advocates for Eine Welt policy as a cross-cutting task of all political departments at the federal and state levels and represents the interests of disadvantaged population groups, especially in the countries of the Global South[2][3].
The agl is an important impetus for development policy domestic work in Germany and advocates through various actions and campaigns for state governments and the federal government to pursue paths towards a just and sustainable development. It serves as a forum for Eine Welt political discussions and as a voice for disadvantaged population groups[2][3].
