The Freiwilligenakademie Niedersachsen is a central provider of further education and qualifications for volunteers in Lower Saxony. With a network of over 70 members from educational institutions, associations, welfare organizations and municipalities, the academy has been promoting civic engagement for more than 20 years.
The main mission of the Freiwilligenakademie is to promote civic engagement and strengthen participation in society. It is committed to the qualification and networking of volunteers in order to make their work more effective and fulfilling[4][5].
The academy is involved in various sustainable projects, particularly in the area of environmental protection. Examples include reforestation campaigns, garbage collection campaigns and the renaturation of rivers[1]. It also promotes integration and inclusion through projects such as inclusive gardening and sports[1].
Through close cooperation with the Niedersächsischen Ministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit und Gleichstellung (Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equality), the academy is supported in its work and can offer free training courses[3][5]. The Freiwilligenakademie Niedersachsen continuously develops new educational concepts and sets standards for comparable educational offers[4].
