The AWO Regionalverband Mitte-West-Thüringen e.V. is a socially active member association and professional service provider that has been committed to supporting socially disadvantaged people since 1919. With around 1,300 full-time and 1,200 volunteer employees, the association offers a wide range of services to support people of all ages and backgrounds in participating in society.
The mission of the AWO Regionalverband is to support people in integrating into society, regardless of age, background or abilities. The work is guided by the values of Freedom, Justice, Equality, Solidarity and Tolerance. These values are reflected in a cultural identity based on respect, co-determination and unconditional acceptance.
The association attaches great importance to the sustainable development of its offers and structures. Despite challenges such as the Corona pandemic, the association has further expanded its services and initiated innovative projects. An important aspect is the promotion of social integration and support for helping people to help themselves. In addition, the association is involved in and advocates for social rights.
