Die Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH (BEG) is the central authority for local rail passenger transport (SPNV) in Bavaria. Founded in 1995, BEG plans, finances and controls the entire SPNV in the Free State of Bavaria. It is 100 percent owned by the Free State of Bavaria and is based in Munich.

It strives to continuously improve SPNV and create an emotional connection between passengers and the Free State of Bavaria. The Bahnland Bayern brand symbolizes this mission and should make people want to travel by train.
