The Bayerischer Volkshochschulverband (bvv) is the largest state organization for adult education in Bavaria and comprises around 160 Volkshochschulen with over 1,000 locations. These institutions offer local, high-quality, and affordable further education opportunities for all citizens, regardless of age, education, or social background.
The Volkshochschulen in the bvv association offer a wide range of educational programs in the areas of Society & Politics, Culture & Design, Health, Languages & Integration, Profession, Future Skills, School Leaving Qualifications and Basic Education. In addition to in-person courses, there are also digital offerings that make learning flexible.
The main mission of the bvv is to strengthen adult education in Bavaria as a committed advocacy group. The association represents the Volkshochschulen to politics, business and society and promotes equal opportunities. The work of the bvv is characterized by appreciation, equal opportunities, openness to diversity and commitment to a sustainable society.

The association attaches great importance to digital participation and promotes accessible educational opportunities. A particular milestone was the 50th anniversary of the Bayerischen Erwachsenenbildungsförderungsgesetzes (BayEbFöG), which has proven to be the basis for the dynamics of adult education in Bavaria. The bvv is continuously working on updating its and investing in such as the Wegweiserkurse.
