BEW's main mission is to supply Berlin reliably and affordably with heat and energy. A central goal is to drive the heat transition to achieve a climate-neutral capital by 2045[1][3].

• Decarbonization: BEW is heavily investing in the decarbonization of its energy generation. This includes the conversion to gas and steam turbine power plants and the use of power-to-heat technologies[3].
• Sustainable Infrastructure: At the Reuter West site, one of the largest power-to-heat plants in Europe is operated, and a large heat storage facility with a capacity of 56 million liters is in operation[3].
• Future-Proof Locations: The new Reuter campus is being built according to the DGNB Gold Standard for sustainable buildings and focuses on modular construction, solar systems, and rainwater management[3].
