The Bildungs- und Sozialwerk Muldental e.V. (BSW) is an independent, non-profit organization focusing on youth vocational assistance and youth social work in the Saxon Muldental region and beyond. Since its founding in 1990, the BSW has been primarily involved in disadvantaged and disability-friendly training with socio-educational support. Each year, the educational institution trains numerous trainees in around 21 occupational fields – including commercial, industrial-technical, craft, and agricultural professions – thereby promoting the individual development and social participation of its target groups.
The main mission of the BSW is to make education and employment accessible as basic prerequisites for social progress, personal development, and securing livelihoods. The company places great emphasis on needs-oriented, meaningful, and appreciative educational and social projects for children, adolescents, and adults in the region and surrounding areas of the Saxon Muldental. The BSW designs active project work in the areas of social urban development, inclusion, integration, and the promotion of democracy, including initiatives such as the "Interkulturellen Woche – Landkreis Leipzig", the "Lokalen Partnerschaft für Demokratie" and "pro migrantum".
The Bildungs- und Sozialwerk Muldental is a member of the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband Sachsen and places particular emphasis on the certified quality of its educational programs. Beyond pure training, the BSW promotes sustainable social integration by improving access to work and social participation for disadvantaged people. In addition, the company supports regional economic development through events such as the Jobmesse in Colditz, which attracts around 250 visitors as a platform for career prospects.
