The Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung (BGE) is a federal-owned company that specializes in the safe disposal of radioactive waste. Founded in July 2016, the BGE took over responsibility for the disposal projects Konrad and Morsleben as well as the Schachtanlage Asse II in April 2017. Additionally, it is responsible for the site selection for a suitable repository for high-level radioactive waste, based on the Site Selection Act (StandAG).
