Originally known as Bürgerhaus, the center has developed over the last 40 years into a central meeting point for creative and social initiatives. The new name, KulturKlinker, reflects the dynamic and inclusive nature of the house, which serves as a catalyst for cultural and social projects.
KulturKlinker Barmbek offers a variety of events and projects that promote the cultural diversity and creative potential of the district. These include regular exhibitions, such as the current exhibition "Nichts! Nur Fort!", which deals with the history of German-speaking Jews in exile. In addition, the center organizes innovative projects like "DazugeHören," which was awarded the Innovation Prize for Socioculture, and "CultureCodes," which presents digital artworks in public spaces.
