The Caritasverband Rhein-Mosel-Ahr e.V. (short Caritas RMA) is a dedicated provider of social and healthcare services in the Mayen, Ahrweiler, Andernach and surrounding area.[1][2][8] As a registered association with over 400 members - including personal, corporate and supporting members - it belongs to the structure of the Caritasverband for the Diocese of Trier and the German Caritasverband.[1][2] Volunteers and full-time staff work together here to enable disadvantaged people to participate in social life.[1]
People are at the center of everything we do. Service to others is an expression of Christian understanding and the core of the association's DNA.[1] Caritas RMA alleviates social, physical and psychological distress on a daily basis, brings people together and cooperates trustfully with politics, the church and society.[1] Internally, the focus is on employees: more than just a job, but an environment that promotes appreciation and cohesion - confirmed by high ratings in working atmosphere (5.0), team spirit (5.0) and work-life balance (4.5).[5] The voluntary board of directors, chaired by Dr. Alexander Saftig, strategically manages this work.[2]
Caritas RMA offers a wide range of help and advice:[1][7][8][9]
These services are regionally rooted and cover preventive, supportive and rehabilitative measures.[1][8]
Sustainability is reflected in the non-profit orientation and transparency: annual financial statements are made public, and protection concepts against violence are prioritized.[3] A fresh initiative is the new neighborhood project in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, funded with 223,000 euros by the Deutsche Fernsehlotterie (as of March 2026). It strengthens disadvantaged neighborhoods and underlines the commitment to long-term participation.[1] Employees appreciate the high level of environmental and social awareness (4.0).[5] As part of the Diocese of Trier, Caritas RMA contributes to regional solidarity, with a focus on inclusion and prevention.[3][9]
Caritas RMA embodies Christian-social values in concrete action: from advice to care, always with the aim of alleviating hardship and building bridges. With strong cohesion and innovative projects, the association is shaping an inclusive region.[1][5]
