The CBM Christoffel-Blindenmission is an international development organization that has been advocating for the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities for over 115 years. Founded by Ernst Jakob Christoffel in 1908, CBM is one of the leading organizations in international development cooperation in Germany. It is recognized as a specialized organization by the World Health Organization (WHO) and has had consultative status with the United Nations (UN) since 2002.
The mission of CBM is to break the cycle of poverty and disability and to create a world where people with disabilities have the same opportunities and rights as everyone else. The organization is based on Christian values, characterized by internationality, professionalism, integrity, communication, and inclusion.
