The DAA Stiftung Education and Profession is a non-profit foundation under civil law based in Hamburg and leads the DAA Foundation Network - one of the largest German corporate groups in the education and training sector with twelve affiliated companies and around 6,000 employees.[2][3][9][10] As a central control body, it makes overarching decisions, advises and supports the associations, while operating its own programs for education and research funding as well as employee development.[2][3][5]
The foundation pursues the promotion of education and welfare, in particular through vocational qualification and social and professional integration.[2][3] Anchored in the of the German Salaried Employees' Union (DAG, founded 1949) and ver.di, it stands for and equal opportunities.[3][5] It shapes the education market in a model-building way, recognizes trends early on and develops innovative offers for social participation - from dealing with long-term unemployed people to young people and migrants to professionals.[3][4][7] Values such as sustainability, innovation and socio-political implementation run through all activities.[5]
The foundation network offers a broad spectrum of vocational education and training:
Over 4.5 million people have already qualified, which underlines the reach.[4]
Sustainability is at the heart of the strategy: Management promotes equal opportunities, sustainable development and innovative solutions for securing skilled workers.[5] The foundation observes educational policy trends, bundles practical experience, promotes research projects on pedagogy, the labor market and politics, as well as cooperations.[7] Expansion of employee training (since 2015) and the education policy department (2020) strengthen long-term impact.[8] Historically model-building - from its founding in 1962 to today - it focuses on lifelong learning and social benefit.[3][8]
The DAA Stiftung opens up opportunities in a changing world of work and makes a lasting contribution to the well-being of society.[3]
