Main Mission and Values

• Transparency and Efficiency: The DBHN attaches great importance to transparent communication and efficient economic processes.
• Sustainability: Sustainability is a central strategic goal. For example, CO2-poor concrete, thermal insulation and roof greening are used in the construction of the Universitätsmedizin Göttingen to achieve the DGNB Gold standard.
• Innovation: The DBHN promotes the integration of digital technology into hospital construction to create "Smart Hospitals".

• Membership in the DGNB: The DBHN is a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (German Sustainable Building Council) to work together with other stakeholders for more sustainability in the construction industry.
• Sustainable Energy Supply: The use of heat pump systems, geothermal energy and photovoltaic systems is promoted in order to build in an ecologically responsible manner.
• Environmental Protection: Environmental protection is taken into account in construction measures, for example through compensatory measures for trees that are cleared during the construction phase.

The DBHN works closely with the state of Lower Saxony and the university hospitals to secure the future of university medicine through sustainable construction projects.
