Der Paritätische Landesverband Brandenburg e.V. (Paritätischer BRB) is the strong umbrella organization of independent welfare organizations in Brandenburg. As an umbrella organization, it unites over 300 independent, non-profit member organizations with more than 800 institutions – from local self-help groups to large supra-regional institutions.[1][7][8] The association strengthens the conceptual and economic basis of its members through professional expertise, advice and lobbying at the municipal, state and European levels.[1][3]
Paritätische BRB bundles a wide range of social services and supports its members in core areas of welfare. The central offers include:
These services cover topics such as elderly care, education, refugee aid, equality, community work and municipal social policy – always with a focus on diversity and intercultural opening.[1]
The core mission of Paritätische BRB is to promote social justice, self-determination, participation and inclusion for all – especially socially disadvantaged people.[1][4][8] As a critical partner for politics and administration, the association represents the interests of its members and shapes social framework conditions for a just society.[1][4]
Values such as diversity, tolerance, respect and openness characterize the association. Every member organization – regardless of size or field of activity – enjoys equal rights. Independence is maintained, while strategic goals such as performance and quality advantages as well as innovative social infrastructure are promoted.[1][4] Bodies such as the general assembly, association council and board of directors ensure democratic structures and socio-political positions.[2]
Paritätische BRB pursues strategic goals for future-oriented social work, including securing the skilled worker base, new alliances for solidarity in times of crisis and strengthening gender equality.[4][6] Current initiatives include:
Through alliances and strategic priorities – developed since 2023 – the performance of employees is secured and target group-oriented social assistance is promoted.[4] The association positions itself as an innovative actor that shapes social participation sustainably in the long term.[1][4]
With its regional presence in districts such as Havel, Lausitz or Uckermark/Barnim as well as specialist teams (e.g. for care, migration or disability), Paritätische BRB is an indispensable engine of the Brandenburg social landscape.[2] It combines tradition with modernity to promote diversity and inclusion in Brandenburg.
