The Deutscher Bundesjugendring (DBJR) is a central working group of youth associations and state youth rings in Germany. With a strong network that includes over 34 youth associations and 16 state youth rings, the DBJR represents the interests of around six million children, adolescents, and young adults.
The main mission of the DBJR is to empower young people and enable them to act and grow independently. The DBJR stands for the values of self-organization, voluntary engagement, and the promotion of a vibrant democracy. It emphasizes the importance of spaces for young people and supports their active participation in shaping society[2][5].
The DBJR is strongly committed to promoting sustainability and aligns itself with the international Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). It demands concrete activities and indicators from the federal government to address a wide range of social, economic, and ecological challenges. In particular, it advocates for issues such as the environment, health, migration, inclusion, and diversity, and supports needs-based, inclusive, and participatory decision-making processes[4].
The Deutscher Bundesjugendring is thus a central actor in representing and promoting the interests of young people in Germany, with a comprehensive commitment to youth policy, sustainability, and international cooperation.
