The DRK Kreisverband Schwalm-Eder e.V. is a dedicated part of the German Red Cross, which is composed of the former district associations Fritzlar-Homberg, Melsungen and Ziegenhain. The association is based in Schwalmstadt-Ziegenhain and has been active since 1978.
The work of the DRK is based on the seven Red Cross principles: Menschlichkeit (Humanity), Unparteilichkeit (Impartiality), Neutralität (Neutrality), Unabhängigkeit (Independence), Freiwilligkeit (Voluntary service), Einheit (Unity) and Universalität (Universality). The association is committed to people in need and promotes the well-being of the community.
The DRK Kreisverband Schwalm-Eder is committed to a sustainable and inclusive society. Through voluntary work and educational programs, awareness of social responsibility is promoted. In addition, the association offers apprenticeships and the Voluntary Social Year to support and integrate young people.
With around 1,000 volunteers and around 11,500 members, the DRK Kreisverband Schwalm-Eder is a strong network based on voluntary service and commitment. The association invites all interested parties to get actively involved and become part of this valuable community.
