Die Grundschule Thesdorf, located in Pinneberg on the outskirts of Hamburg, offers comprehensive education for around 300 students in 12 regular classes and a DaZ class (German as a second language). A dedicated team of 24 teachers, supported by student teachers and school assistance, ensures individual support for each child.
The school has been an open all-day school with reliable morning hours since 2005. The voluntary afternoon program includes a variety of courses and working groups in the areas of sports, languages, music, experimentation, handicrafts and gardening. Cooperations with the VfL Pinneberg, the local music school and the Deutscher Hausfrauenbund (DHB e.V.) further enrich the offer.
Special attention is paid to reading promotion. The school's own student library with over 2,000 books and the school license for the reading promotion program "Antolin" motivate children to discover the joy of reading. Dedicated parents actively support the library work.
Die Grundschule Thesdorf values a positive school climate, which is promoted by school uniforms (voluntary) and conflict mediators. The school association, consisting of parents, teachers and sponsors, supports the school financially and ideally in order to enrich school life and enable projects that would otherwise not be possible. This includes grants for class trips, cultural events, support for the student library and the design of the schoolyard.
The school has modern buildings, a sports hall, a sports field, a cafeteria, a student library and a computer room. The swimming pool on Burmeisterallee is available for swimming lessons.
Die Grundschule Thesdorf strives to provide its students with a well-founded and versatile education and to accompany them on their way to becoming self-confident and responsible personalities.
