Diakonie Himmelsthür

The Diakonie Himmelsthür is a traditional, non-profit company that has been dedicated to integration assistance for over 139 years. With around 3,000 employees at over 30 locations in Niedersachsen, the Diakonie offers a wide range of services in the areas of living, working and meeting for people of all ages with assistance needs.

The offers include:

• Living: Different forms of housing, from special forms of housing to outpatient assisted living and youth welfare, tailored to individual support needs.
• Working: Meaningful jobs and employment opportunities that enable people with assistance needs to participate in working life.
• Meeting: Meeting places, shops and events that promote contact and inclusion.

The Diakonie Himmelsthür is aware of its history and has had it examined by independent scientists. It deeply regrets the suffering that former children in care have experienced in the past and is now consistently committed to a pedagogy that is characterized by unconditional acceptance and the love of Christ.
