TAGA e.V. is the first and only "other service provider" in Rheinland-Pfalz that offers people with disabilities and workshop status meaningful jobs in manageable groups. [1][3][5] As a non-profit association based in the historic Gut Avelsbach in Trier, TAGA creates an alternative to large workshops, with a personal working atmosphere: There is one supervisor for every 5–6 employees, which enables individual support and an almost family-like environment.[5][3]
Founded as a sponsoring association to overcome high admission hurdles, TAGA received official recognition from the state of Rheinland-Pfalz in February 2022.[1] Under the direction of Volker Emmrich and Bernd Krieger, the first working groups started in April 2022. Today, TAGA employs around 18 people with disabilities in workshop status, with a focus on professional reorientation for people with intellectual disabilities or mental illness.[1][5] The project grew rapidly: from horticulture to viticulture to the baking manufactory – always with the motto "small, manageable working groups".[7]
TAGA offers a variety of diverse activities that develop skills and create social benefits:
These offers respect individual needs, improve the right to choose and correspond to the principle of "earning a living".[3][2]
The core mission of TAGA: Participation in work for people with disabilities through attractive, inclusive jobs.[3][2] Values such as individuality, inclusion and personal support from educators, social workers and craftsmen are at the center. TAGA works closely with Gut Avelsbach, a jewel of the former Royal Prussian wine-growing estate, creating bridges between tradition and modern social commitment.[3][2] Each work area is designed for small groups (max. 4–5 people) to promote trust and motivation.[7]
Sustainability characterizes TAGA: In viticulture, organic wines are produced on 25 hectares, supplemented by regional specialties in the farm shop.[2] The baked products are natural and high quality.[6] Gardening work supports environmentally friendly care, and all initiatives aim at long-term social integration. As a pioneer, TAGA promotes regional added value and social inclusion without compromising on quality.[1][4]
TAGA e.V. inspires as a pioneer for professional participation in the Trier region – a place where work creates meaning and people grow.[3][5]
