The German Red Cross (DRK) State Association Brandenburg e.V. is part of the largest aid organization in Germany and the international Red Cross and Red Crescent movement. The main mission of the DRK is to help people in emergency situations, regardless of their origin or background, solely based on the measure of their need. The DRK is committed to the life, health, well-being, protection, peaceful coexistence, and dignity of all people[2].
The DRK-Landesverband Brandenburg e.V. offers a wide range of services and is engaged in various areas:
The DRK-Landesverband Brandenburg e.V. is one of 19 state associations in the German Red Cross. The presidency consists of the president, two vice presidents, the state association doctor, the state treasurer, the state legal advisor, representatives of the communities, and the state managing director. All members of the presidency, except for the state managing director, perform their offices on a voluntary basis[1].
The DRK-Landesverband Brandenburg e.V. follows the voluntary self-commitment of the Initiative Transparent Civil Society, which emphasizes the transparency and accountability of the organization. In addition, the association offers opportunities for Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) and Federal Volunteer Service (BFD) to promote young people and strengthen social engagement[1][5].
The DRK is engaged not only in local but also in international aid actions. For example, the association provides further assistance to people in need in Lebanon. Through donations and engagement from citizens, the DRK can continue and expand its important work[5].
The DRK-Landesverband Brandenburg e.V. is a central part of the community, distinguished by its diverse services and tireless commitment to the well-being of people.
