The DRK-Landesverband Niedersachsen e. V. is a central part of the largest German aid organization, which has been committed to humanity and humanitarian aid for over 150 years. The state association was founded in 1947 and comprises 45 district associations and 1,096 local associations.
The mission of the DRK is based on the principles of humanity, which are reflected in the guidelines and principles of the association. The protection of life, health, well-being and the dignity of all people are paramount. The DRK is also clearly opposed to racism and for peaceful coexistence.
The DRK is involved in numerous sustainable initiatives aimed at strengthening the community and ensuring humanitarian aid in the long term. These include the expansion of civil protection and the promotion of voluntary work. The association attaches great importance to transparency and regularly publishes annual reports to openly present its work and finances.
Currently, the DRK emphasizes the importance of responsible use of emergency call numbers and is committed to a clear line against racism. The annual state committee of the readiness units in Lower Saxony shows the commitment to the expansion of civil protection and the financing of these measures.
