Die Emsländische Landschaft e.V. is a cultural cross-sectional service provider that is committed to promoting culture, art, customs and local history in the districts of Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim. The association was founded in 1979 by the two districts and the local history associations.
The mission of the Emsländische Landschaft is to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the region. It sees itself as a supporter of cultural actors and organizations in order to create a diverse cultural landscape. The association values the participation of the general public in cultural life.
The Emsländische Landschaft is committed to the long-term preservation of cultural traditions and languages. The association is part of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Landschaften und Landschaftsverbände in Niedersachsen (ALLviN), which promotes exchange and cooperation between cultural institutions. In addition, the Emsländische Landschaft works with various regional and supra-regional partners to achieve its goals.
