The Evang.-Luth. Pfründestiftung in Bayern is a legally capable ecclesiastical foundation under public law that specializes in the administration and use of assets for the remuneration and provision of pastors. This foundation has its roots in the historical benefice system, which has secured the livelihood of the clergy for centuries.
The main mission of the foundation is to ensure the livelihood of the clergy while ensuring the long-term preservation of the foundation's assets. The foundation's values include responsibility, sustainability and transparency in asset management.
The foundation attaches great importance to sustainable practices in agriculture and the handling of natural resources. It promotes ecologically interesting areas and is committed to the environmentally friendly management of its land. In addition, initiatives for RENEWABLE ENERGY and land consolidation are supported.
The foundation was established in 2018 through the merger of the previous local benefice foundations, which had been managed by the Pfründestiftungsverband since 1935. This reform aimed to simplify and make administration more efficient.
The Evang.-Luth. Pfründestiftung in Bayern is therefore a central component of the Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Bayern and plays an important role in securing the financial foundations for the pastors in the Free State.
