The Evangelische Mission Weltweit (EMW) is a dynamic community of Protestant churches, organizations, and associations dedicated to mission and ecumenism. Based in Hamburg, the EMW is committed to peace, justice, sustainability, and the promotion of theological education as well as intercultural and contextual theologies. The EMW provides a platform for exchange and collaboration between different churches and mission organizations that, despite their diverse traditions, are united by a common faith and the mission of God.
The EMW supports a variety of projects and initiatives focused on sustainable development, education, medical assistance, and the empowerment of women. It promotes intercultural exchange through volunteer services and programs like "weltwärts" and is engaged in theological education through partnerships with universities worldwide. The EMW is a member of the "Ecumenical Network for Climate Justice" and is committed to creating "Green Campuses" at theological colleges. Additionally, it advocates for the preservation of creation and the promotion of a "Good Life for All."
The EMW is active in defending human rights and promoting democracy and peace, particularly in regions like Togo and Ghana. It works closely with international partners to improve the living conditions of people and advocates for the rights of marginalized groups, such as the Dalits in South Asia.
