FLAKS

The FLAKS (Women, Learning, Work, Contact, Service) is a diverse center for women and a multigenerational house in the heart of Hamburg-Altona. Here, women of all generations, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds come together to meet, consult, educate, and engage.

• Meeting and Community: FLAKS offers regular gatherings such as the Lunch Meeting, Breakfast Meeting, and Mothers' Meeting, where women can eat, talk, and exchange ideas with each other.
• Consultation and Support: The center provides social counseling, assistance with applications and forms, as well as specific consultations for mothers on topics such as family, education, daycare, school, and health.
• Education and Further Training: There are courses such as literacy in German, Digital Learning Meetings, and First Aid courses for mothers with toddlers, all with open childcare.
• Culture and Leisure: FLAKS organizes cultural events, theater and choir groups, as well as excursions and discovery tours through Hamburg.

The main mission of FLAKS is to provide women of all ages and cultural backgrounds with a platform where they can network, support each other, and further their education. The center is committed to empowering women and promoting community and inclusion. It is a place where women can develop their skills, share their problems, and find solutions.

• Inclusion and Diversity: FLAKS is particularly focused on the integration of refugee women and their children and offers special consultations and services in Turkish.
• Education and Self-Help: Through various courses and workshops, FLAKS promotes self-help and further education for women to improve their chances in the job market and everyday life.
• Community and Social Engagement: The center emphasizes the importance of community and social engagement through volunteer work and sponsorships that support and empower women.
