Flüchtlingsrat Brandenburg

The Flüchtlingsrat Brandenburg is a non-governmental organization that has been active throughout Brandenburg since 1994. This organization brings together people with and without a refugee background, employees of welfare associations and counseling centers, churches, self-organizations of refugees, and political initiatives.

• Consultation and Support: The Flüchtlingsrat offers comprehensive consultation and support for refugees, including legal advice, hardship consultation, and emergency aid funds.
• Training and Referral Consultation: The office coordinates and promotes the exchange of information between local initiatives, self-organizations, and counseling centers. It offers training as well as telephone referral consultation.
• Public Relations and Political Influence: The Flüchtlingsrat publicly addresses state-wide and municipal developments and advocates for positive discretionary practices and legal improvements through targeted public relations work and discussions with politics and administration.
• Networking and Exchange: Regular open meetings serve the professional and personal exchange as well as the networking of those engaged in the field of flight and asylum in Brandenburg.

The main mission of the Flüchtlingsrat is to fight for a non-racist, solidarity-based society and to improve the living conditions of refugees. The Flüchtlingsrat advocates politically alongside refugees for their access to rights and for unrestricted social participation. The validity of human rights takes precedence for the Flüchtlingsrat over a policy of repelling refugees.

• Right to Stay and Against Deportations: The Flüchtlingsrat fights for a genuine right to stay for all refugees and other migrants and strictly opposes deportations. Return must only occur voluntarily and self-determined.
