FortSchritt Bayern gGmbH is a non-profit organization that, since its founding in 2001 from a parent initiative, has been dedicated to the integrative and holistic support of children and adults. With over 30 day care centers, special education day care centers, day and large day care facilities in several Upper Bavarian districts and Munich, FortSchritt Bayern cares for around 1,500 children - including children with and without disabilities - through approximately 420 specialists. The offer is supplemented by its own transport service, an interdisciplinary specialist service for parents, children and educators, as well as outpatient assisted living groups for young adults with disabilities[1][3][6].
The focus is on individual personality development and social justice. The offers are designed inclusively and specifically promote encounters and participation of all social groups, regardless of origin or disability - in accordance with the requirements of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of 2009. Through a multi-layered, social learning environment, FortSchritt Bayern creates spaces in which diversity, integration and equal opportunities are actively lived. The company relies on Conductive Education, a special therapy and support method that accompanies both children and adults[1][3][6].
In addition to care and support, FortSchritt Bayern offers its own training institute that trains and educates pedagogical specialists, as well as a translation office for Easy Language, which strengthens accessibility and inclusion in society. With projects such as "Dein Job-FINDer", the gGmbH also supports people with disabilities in entering the primary labor market, thus contributing to social participation and self-determination[3].
The values of FortSchritt Bayern are based on holism, appreciation of individual needs, diversity, social justice and sustainability. Environmental awareness and social responsibility are reflected both in the working atmosphere and in the practical implementation of the offers, which is reflected in the good employee satisfaction[4].
Through its comprehensive range of integrative childcare, special education support, outpatient living groups and inclusive projects, FortSchritt Bayern makes a valuable contribution to an inclusive society that supports and accompanies children and adults regardless of their individual circumstances and strengthens their independence.
