The Verbundkrankenhaus Linz-Remagen is a development-oriented clinic group with two locations – the Franziskus Krankenhaus in Linz am Rhein (founded 1854) and the Krankenhaus Maria Stern in Remagen (founded 1892). Together with resident doctors, it forms the backbone of medical care in the region.[1][2][3]
As a specialized facility, the Verbundkrankenhaus offers a broad spectrum of modern medical services. Core competencies include Internal Medicine, a ventilation and weaning center, focus on pneumology (pulmonary medicine) and general and visceral surgery. These departments ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care for acute and chronic diseases, from intensive care to surgical treatment.[1][6] Close cooperation with external specialists strengthens the regional supply chain and ensures seamless transitions in patient care.[2][4]
The clinic lives by its Franciscan guidelines, which have been shaped for over 170 years by the religious order of the Franciscanerinnen von Nonnenwerth. Service to people is the focus: It is about empathetic care for the sick, elderly and those in need of care, as well as respectful treatment of relatives. Employees embody these values through high commitment and professionalism. The motto "Wir sind für Sie da!" (We are here for you!) underlines the customer-oriented approach – from the first encounter to aftercare.[2][3][4]
Since January 1, 2022, the Krankenhausverbund Linz/Remagen gemeinnützige GmbH has been responsible as a subsidiary of the Angela von Cordier-Stiftung. This structure ensures the continuity of Franciscan principles in the long term. The directorate, headed by the managing directors André Tillmann and Thomas Werner, the medical director Dr. med. Susanne Molitor, the medical director Dr. med. Temur Parulava and the nursing director Thorsten Dörholt, steers the facility in a future-oriented manner.[1][5]
Sustainability is an integral part of the corporate mission statement. The Verbundkrankenhaus is committed to continuously optimizing energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency in order to minimize the ecological footprint. Measures include the promotion of renewable energies, compliance with legal standards, provision of resources and training for employees. Regular monitoring, adaptation of goals and open reporting to stakeholders characterize the approach. This creates added value through environmentally friendly practices.[1]
Communication is the heart of everyday life: Internally, it promotes team cohesion across ward boundaries, externally it arises in personal contact with patients, relatives and visitors. Supplemented by print media, the Internet and information screens, everything aims for a positive first impression and solution-oriented interaction. Close partnerships with referring doctors, suppliers and the press round off the picture.[4]
The Verbundkrankenhaus Linz-Remagen combines Tradition with Innovation: Franciscan values drive high-quality, sustainable care – always in the service of the people in the region. With dedicated teams, it creates trust and healing in challenging times.[2][3]
