The Freie Schule Anne-Sophie (FSAS) is a state-approved substitute school under the independent sponsorship of the Stiftung Würth, which offers modern, holistic education as a supplementary offering to the classic school landscape.[1][3] With locations in Berlin-Zehlendorf and Künzelsau, it creates learning-friendly environments in which children and young people mature into self-confident personalities and leave school as winners – according to the guiding principle of the initiator Bettina Würth.[1][4]
Both locations offer small classes, all-day care and a variety of offers such as career and study orientation (BSO). These include strengths discovery, internships, professional contacts and preparation for megatrends in the world of work – free of clichés and age-appropriate from primary to secondary level.[5]
The FSAS strengthens knowledge, personal responsibility and social skills through individual coaching and sustainable development.[1] The mission statement is based on four basic attitudes: appreciation, mindfulness, willingness to learn and confidence.[2][4] Teachers act as learning facilitators, give freedom to develop and actively support to shape personalities.[3] The goal is global participation in a networked world, with bilingual curricula and digital creativity.[2]
Although explicit sustainability goals are not listed in detail, the school integrates responsible handling of digital media and social skills as a basis for forward-looking education.[2] The Stiftung Würth secures the financial basis to maintain high quality standards.[3] A systematic BSO concept prepares for dual training, studies or modern professions, taking into account trends such as digitalization.[5]
The FSAS creates a home for motivating learning, where students discover their strengths and start confidently into the world. With a motivated workforce – from educators to consultants to specialists – an inspiring community is created.[9] It prepares for Abitur and professional life, always with a focus on holistic qualification.[2][7]
