The Freie Waldorfschule Konstanz, founded in 2012, is a steadily growing school dedicated to Waldorf education according to Rudolf Steiner. The focus is on the holistic development of the child, with intellectual, practical, creative and social skills being equally promoted.
The school offers a wide range of subjects, including classical subjects such as German and mathematics, as well as artistic and craft subjects such as painting, drawing, sculpting, music, theater, crafts, gardening and needlework. English and Spanish are taught as foreign languages from the first grade. A special subject is eurythmy, which translates language and music into movement.
The Freie Waldorfschule Konstanz educates students from 1st to 12th grade. In addition to the Waldorf curriculum, the school offers various approaches to state qualifications. Within grades 9 to 12, students can obtain the Hauptschule diploma. In the 11th grade, there is the possibility of taking the intermediate secondary school certificate. Since the 2021/22 school year, the CSE (Certificate of Steiner Education), a New Zealand school leaving certificate, has been established at the school. After the 12th grade, students can aim for the Abitur via a cooperation with the Freie Waldorfschule Wahlwies.
The school values a broad general and personal education. The development of the whole child is the focus, with social and motor development being promoted in addition to intellectual development. The school strives for students to complete their Waldorf school time with specific artistic and practical topics and to finish in the class association.
The Freie Waldorfschule Konstanz is financed by state subsidies, donations and parental contributions. The amount of school fees is income-dependent in order to guarantee a community of solidarity.
The school is looking for dedicated teachers and staff who would like to help shape the future of the school. The school's motto is: "Receive the child in reverence, educate in love and release in freedom."
