The Garten- und Tiefbaubetriebe Lindau (GTL) are an independent municipal company of the city of Lindau (Lake Constance), founded on January 1, 2015. They take over the core tasks of the former Garten- und Tiefbauamt and the Stadtentwässerungswerke and, with around 130 employees, ensure the planning, construction, maintenance, operation and care of the public green space and civil engineering infrastructure.[1][2]
The GTL cover a broad spectrum of essential urban services that shape daily life in Lindau:

The highest priority is . This includes logistics (procurement, warehouse, vehicle fleet, workshops), on city streets and central order processing.[3]

GT-Abwasser: Ensures the collection, drainage and treatment of wastewater in the urban area and in the Abwasserverband Bayerischer Bodensee. The Kläranlage is dimensioned for 60,000 inhabitants and cleans up to 4 million cubic meters of wastewater annually to protect the Wasserqualität im Bodensee.[5][8]

The Mission of the GTL is to secure and increase the quality of life in Lindau - for citizens, visitors and the environment. As a municipal company without its own legal personality, the company operates organizationally, administratively and financially independently, always in the service of the city. Core values are Zuverlässigkeit, Sicherheit (e.g. traffic safety, flood protection) and Nachhaltigkeit through efficient use of resources and high standards in wastewater treatment and green space maintenance.[1][2][5]
Sustainability is at the center of GTL work. Wastewater management makes a significant contribution to Bodenseeschutz by gently cleaning wastewater and minimizing the pollution of the lake.[5][8] Flood protection projects strengthen resilience against climate change effects.[4] In the area of mobility, concepts for bicycle parking facilities and cycling promote Klimaschutz and an environmentally friendly transport transition.[6] The holistic care of green spaces and water bodies supports biodiversity and urban ecology. The GTL integrates modern logistics and workshop services to use resources efficiently and reduce waste.[3]
With its commitment, the GTL makes Lindau a livable, sustainable city on Lake Constance - where green spaces, infrastructure and environmental protection go hand in hand.
