The Gemeinde Pentling, located on the southern outskirts of Regensburg, presents itself as a lively and lovable municipality with over 7,000 inhabitants. Pentling looks back on a rich history that dates back to the Bronze Age and is characterized by Roman influences and the close connection to the Kloster St. Emmeram monastery.
The municipality's coat of arms reflects this history: the Pentlinger Burg, the Roman road and the lily of the Kloster St. Emmeram.
Pentling offers a high quality of life for all generations. The municipality has an excellent infrastructure with childcare facilities, schools, a library and a wide range of services for senior citizens. Club life is active and the sports and leisure activities are diverse, from playgrounds to sports facilities to cycling and hiking trails. Particularly noteworthy is the charming village of Matting on the Donau with its historic stone houses and the cable ferry.
The Gemeinde Pentling is conveniently located on the A3 and A93 motorways and the B16 federal highway. Public transport is constantly being expanded to ensure good connections to all districts.
A particular concern of the municipality is digital participation. Pentling is a HIGH-SPEED municipality with a comprehensive fiber optic network that enables citizens and companies to have fast internet. In addition, the municipality is committed to accessibility in the digital area and offers a read-aloud function on its website.
Pentling maintains partnerships with the Italian Kommune Corciano and the French municipality of Civrieux d`Azergues. These partnerships are lived through regular meetings and a joint European Christmas market.
The Gemeinde Pentling is proud of its honorary citizen, Pope Emeritus Benedikt XVI., who owned his house in Pentling. This now serves as a meeting and research center.
Pentling strives to offer its citizens a high level of service. Many services can be completed online via the citizen service portal. The municipal administration is available to citizens for questions and concerns.
