The Gemeinde Straubenhardt, idyllically located on the northern edge of the Black Forest, is a cosmopolitan and economically strong municipality characterized by its high quality of life. With its six districts – Conweiler, Feldrennach, Langenalb, Ottenhausen, Pfinzweiler and Schwann – Straubenhardt offers a lively community and a charming landscape.
Straubenhardt sees itself as a modern service provider for its citizens. The administration offers a wide range of services, from A for waste disposal to Z for approvals for telecommunications lines. These include the citizen's office, the registry office, the local police authority and offers in the areas of education, family and culture. The municipality attaches great importance to citizen proximity and promotes dialogue between the administration, the municipal council and the population.
A particular concern of the municipality is the promotion of community life. Straubenhardt offers an excellent infrastructure for families, with a wide range of childcare and education options. There are also plenty of leisure activities, with playgrounds, youth centers, libraries, a music school and a lively club life. The youth municipal council is actively committed to the interests of the young generation.
Straubenhardt is strongly committed to sustainability and environmental protection. As the first Cradle-to-Cradle model municipality in Baden-WĂĽrttemberg, Straubenhardt is committed to the fair use of resources. The municipality is also certified as a Fairtrade municipality and promotes fair trade. Initiatives in the area of climate and the environment include the Windpark Straubenhardt, citizen solar systems and a municipal heating plan. The aim is to make Straubenhardt a place worth living in for all generations and to actively and sustainably shape the future.
