The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) is an independent, non-profit think tank based in Berlin. Founded in October 2003 by Thorsten Benner, Wolfgang Reinicke, and Jan Martin Witte, GPPi aims to improve global governance through research, policy advice, and debates.
The main mission of GPPi is to strengthen global governance by developing innovative approaches for effective and accountable governance, promoting political and social entrepreneurship, and building strategic communities between the public sector, business, and civil society. GPPi firmly believes that effective and accountable governance depends on individuals who are creative, thoughtful, and willing to work across borders[2].

An important aspect of GPPi's work is the promotion of equality. The institute is fully committed to promoting equality at all levels and in all aspects of its work[2].
GPPi collaborates with a constantly growing global network of individuals and organizations to achieve economies of scale and impact. This includes partnerships with leading universities and research institutions as well as with international organizations such as the United Nations and the European Commission[2].
The management of GPPi consists of a group of directors and senior staff who are responsible for overseeing tasks such as personnel development, fundraising, and project development, while also pursuing their own thematic areas of interest. The leadership is supported by a volunteer executive committee led by Wolfgang Reinicke, one of the founders and president of GPPi[2].
Through its diverse research areas, its policy advice, and the promotion of public debates, GPPi actively contributes to solving global challenges and strives for effective and accountable solutions.
