GreenFaith

GreenFaith is a global, multireligious organization dedicated to building a worldwide climate and environmental movement. Founded in 1992 in New Jersey, USA, after its founders participated in the UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, GreenFaith has become an international force in the fight against climate change and for environmental justice.

The mission of GreenFaith is based on the belief that the Earth and all people are sacred and threatened. The goal is to create a global, multireligious movement that advocates for the protection of the Earth and the creation of a compassionate, loving, and just world. The values of GreenFaith include:

• Spirituality: Centered and inspired by various faith traditions, with a deep reverence for the sanctity of the Earth and all people.
• Inclusivity: Collaborating with people from diverse cultural and background.
• Compassion: Acting out of love and the will to end the suffering of people and the Earth.
• Justice: Efforts to end all forms of oppression and create a just and healed world.
• Responsibility: Leading by example, with a commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability.

GreenFaith offers a variety of programs and initiatives to achieve its goals:

• Grassroots Organization: GreenFaith is building a global community of over 100 "Circles" in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America, actively engaged through educational and training programs, campaigns, and public leadership roles.
• Eco-Theology and Education: Contextualized eco-theological education and training in organizational and campaign skills.
• Climate Justice Campaigns: Campaigns against new fossil fuel projects and their financing, as well as support for a just transition, green jobs, and commitments to damage and loss coverage for climate-vulnerable regions[2][3].
