The Handwerkskammer Hamburg is a corporation under public law and a central self-governing institution for the craft sector in Hamburg. It represents the interests of around 15,000 craft businesses with more than 105,000 employees and offers comprehensive services and advice to its members.

The Handwerkskammer Hamburg is actively involved in the area of sustainability, in particular through the promotion of energy efficiency measures. Together with the Zentrum für Energie-, Wasser- und Umwelttechnik (ZEWU) (Center for Energy, Water and Environmental Technology), it offers advice on energy efficiency and supports projects for resource conservation. These initiatives help to strengthen environmental awareness in the craft sector and at the same time increase the competitiveness of businesses.
