The
Das Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) is a science-promoting foundation based in Delmenhorst. Since 1997, it has supported approximately 50 renowned scientists, authors, and artists annually through research and work grants. This funding enables the fellows to concentrate on a research project independently of academic obligations.
The main mission of the HWK is to promote excellent science and support the internationalization of regional science clusters. Values such as interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit, individuelle Förderung and umfassendes Networking shape the profile of the HWK.
Although specific sustainability goals are not explicitly mentioned, the HWK contributes to the sustainable development of science by promoting research and interdisciplinary collaboration. The close cooperation with regional universities and research institutions also promotes the regional science landscape.
The HWK is supported by the federal states of Niedersachsen and Bremen, as well as the city of Delmenhorst. Through its close ties to regional and international networks, the HWK offers its fellows a unique environment for scientific innovation and cultural exchange.
