The Haus der sozialen Vielfalt gGmbH (Haus SoVi) is a recognized provider of independent youth welfare based in Leipzig, dedicated to promoting social cohesion. The focus of the work is on fostering interaction between the migrant-Muslim community and the majority population. In particular, young people are shown ways to actively participate in social, cultural, and political life.
Haus SoVi offers a variety of services aimed at promoting dialogue and integration. These include outpatient and inpatient educational assistance, supporting young people and families in difficult life situations. Additionally, projects such as "Gemeinsam starkgemacht" and the "Bündnis gegen antimuslimischen Rassismus in Sachsen" are carried out, which stand against discrimination and advocate for an inclusive society. Other offerings include educational and memorial site trips as well as training opportunities in the field of anti-discrimination.
The mission of Haus SoVi is to promote the reduction of group-related enmity and extremist thinking by creating meeting spaces and developing educational offerings. The organization sees itself as an intermediary partner in the dialogue between different population groups and relies on an intercultural team that understands the opportunities and challenges of multiculturalism through its own biography.
Haus SoVi is actively committed to social sustainability by conveying knowledge about a socially diverse population in the context of demographic change. The organization strives to contribute to the promotion of an inclusive society through professional advice to state and non-state institutions. A current project, "Stadt Land Oase – Diversitätspionier:innen unterwegs," aims to create meeting spaces for Muslim-migrant youth and reduce prejudices.
Haus SoVi was recently nominated for the SINN Innovation Award, highlighting the significance and success of its projects. The organization continuously works to raise awareness in society for migrant perspectives and promotes dialogue through creative workshops and excursions.
With over 50 full-time employees and numerous funded projects, Haus SoVi has established itself as a stable and vital player in the field of social work. The transformation into a non-profit GmbH marks another step in the development of a sustainable social organization that aims to bring about long-term positive societal changes.
