The
The Heilpädagogischer Wohn- und Beschäftigungsverbund gGmbH (HWBV) is a social institution that specializes in the care and support of adult people with intellectual disabilities, challenging behavior and/or mental disabilities. The institution offers housing and employment opportunities in a total of 60 residential places to meet the needs of these people.
The main mission of the HWBV is to offer the people in its care a temporary or permanent home if a return to regulated society is not possible. The focus is on the individual support and promotion of people to enable them to live a self-determined life. Values such as inclusion, respect and promotion of independence are in the foreground.
Although specific sustainability goals are not explicitly mentioned, the HWBV's focus is on the long-term support and integration of the people in its care into society. This is done by creating stable living conditions and promoting independence, which leads to a sustainable improvement in the quality of life.
The roots of the HWBV lie in the Psychiatric Center Nordbaden. Due to the need to offer people with intellectual disabilities adequate housing and employment opportunities, the HWBV gGmbH was founded in 2001. Since then, the institution has continuously developed and today offers comprehensive support in Oberhausen-Rheinhausen and Karlsruhe-Stupferich.
