IN VIA Rottenburg-Stuttgart is a catholic professional association for social work with girls and women, which accompanies, advises and supports children, adolescents, young migrants*, as well as travelers and other "people on the move".[1][2] The association works preventively, holistically and interculturally, placing particular emphasis on the promotion of girls and young women.[1]
Its services primarily include education, counseling, accompaniment and protection. These include, among others, youth migration services, educational counseling, support with integration into work and society, as well as help on the way to a new home.[1][10] Furthermore, IN VIA offers specialized counseling and support formats, for example for the recognition of foreign professional qualifications and for educational counseling within the framework of the Garantiefonds Hochschule.[8][10]
The mission of IN VIA is clearly focused on participation and independence: Children and adolescents are to be strengthened on their path in life and prepared for taking on responsibility in their profession, family, church and society.[1] A characteristic feature of the association's work is the close connection between full-time commitment and voluntary work.[1]
Another focus is on family and social work. With services such as the family center "Wilde Hilde", IN VIA creates locally accessible orientation aids, facilitates access to support systems, and promotes encounters, exchange, and the support of families in matters of upbringing and education.[7] In doing so, the association not only supports individuals but also strengthens social structures in everyday life.
In the sense of sustainability, IN VIA primarily understands its work as social sustainability: Stable perspectives are created through long-term support, empowerment, and the removal of access barriers.[1][7][8] The intercultural orientation, the promotion of independence, and the support of people in transition and upheaval phases contribute to the lasting improvement of social participation.[1][8]
IN VIA thus stands for people-oriented, value-based social work that supports young people, immigrants, and families on their way to a self-determined life.[1][2]
