InSL e.V. – Promoting educational language for more educational equity
InSL e.V. was founded in 2011 with the aim of offering free and low-threshold lessons for the acquisition of educational language for children in Friedrichsdorf and the surrounding region. The focus is on promoting educational language, as this is considered a crucial key to school success and social participation - both for immigrant children and for those from educationally disadvantaged households. InSL does not see language support in isolation, but understands it as holistic language education that is made possible individually along the entire educational biography from daycare to adult education.
The core business of InSL comprises a broad spectrum of language training and language support programs tailored to different age groups and educational institutions. A central element is the established network of continuous language education, which brings together daycare centers, primary schools, secondary schools and other educational institutions. InSL promotes exchange among educators in regional networks, for example through regular meetings or language cafés, in order to share knowledge and strengthen sensitivity to linguistic challenges. In Friedrichsdorf, almost all educational institutions are already integrated into the network, so that around ten percent of the children in the daycare centers and primary schools benefit from InSL courses.
The MISSION of InSL is clearly defined: to enable educational equity for all children in the German school system as the basis for a peaceful and free society. Language must not be a ground for discrimination. InSL therefore makes school-relevant features of educational language accessible to all children and ensures that language support is individually adapted along the educational biography. InSL measures the effectiveness of the programs qualitatively and quantitatively via low-threshold screenings in order to ensure sustainable progress and effectiveness.
In the sense of its social responsibility, InSL is strongly committed to social cohesion and promotes inclusion through targeted language education. Most courses are offered free of charge or for low fees in order to offer as many children as possible a fair chance. The work is also supported by donations, which ensure the continued existence of the offers.
Sustainability aspects in the narrower sense, such as environmental protection or resource management, are not specifically identified on the website, but the guiding principle of social sustainability through educational equity and equal opportunities is clearly anchored.
In summary, InSL e.V. stands for a sustainable improvement in educational opportunities through innovative language support in networked structures, which accompanies and supports children from early childhood to adult education. Through this targeted support, InSL makes an important contribution to the integration, social participation and long-term development opportunities of young people in Germany[1][3][4].
