The Institute for Productive Learning in Europe (IPLE) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1991 by Ingrid Böhm and Prof. Jens Schneider as an affiliated institute of the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin. IPLE consists of the association IPLE e.V. and its 100% subsidiary, Productive Learning GmbH, which has been active in the field of European educational promotion since 2003[4][5].
IPLE focuses on the development and implementation of concepts for the school and extracurricular education sector. A central offering is "Productive Learning," a holistic educational path that combines practical and theoretical learning. Students work in companies three days a week and spend the other two days in school lessons to reflect on and deepen their experiences[2][4].
The main mission of IPLE is to promote education through innovative and practice-oriented educational concepts. The institute advocates for the individualization of learning processes and the connection between theoretical and practical learning. Values such as promoting socially relevant learning, connecting theory and practice, and the continuous development of educational work are at the core of IPLE's activities[4].
IPLE is involved in numerous sustainable educational initiatives:
IPLE works closely with educational and cultural ministries and has conducted ESF-funded and state-financed school and model trials in several federal states. Through these efforts, the institute contributes to the long-term and sustainable improvement of the educational landscape.
